THE WORLD WANTS PLASTICFREE CHANGE NOW
Two big tv-show wins and a tv-journalist hunting the answer: Is Europe free from single use plastics in 2030? European television journalists and editors had their eyes on Maistic and PlasticFree this winter.
Besides corona, PlasticFree is a hot topic for everyone. We are all concerned about how plastic pollution effects nature, oceans and animal life. The people want action and they want change. Now.
Maistic is frontrunner in the plastic free movement, as we do nothing but plastic free and sell in now 20 countries. We have been noticing a difference in the consumer plastic free awareness for a long time. They want to take the lead for a better world – with less plastic in it.
Retailers are also moving towards less plastic in still more areas.
And now television is getting it too.
Maistic is quite often in newspapers and magazines. This past month, television journalists are sharpening the awareness. In just one month we have had the pleasure of being featured on national TV not only one, but three times – and in three different countries.
Maistic wins 1st place in Dutch TV
On February 1th 2020 Maistic 2.gen Home Compostable Dog Bags participated in a Dutch ‘Dog-bag competition’ featured in the biggest consumer program on Dutch public television, Kassa.
Several dog owners tested 6 different dog bags – and Maistic won this competition.
We’re very proud, as it was solely on consumer voices and preference – no experts involved.
In the test the dog owners expressed three reasons for the win: 1. The firmness of the bag, 2. The ability to separate the bags from each other 3. The size. It was important that the bag was big enough for the dog remains – also from larger dogs…
The retail Maistic bags comes in two standard sizes – one for big dog and one for smaller dogs.

Maistic wins the biggest investment from Dragons Den, Denmark
On 20th February 2020 Maistic owners Heidi von Bülow and Brian Bouet Smith chose to pitch Maistic and our Plastic Free concept for worldwide retailers and businesses in front of investors in the most popular show this winter in prime time on national TV in Denmark, Dragon’s Den Denmark (Løvens Hule). Nerve wrecking…
We did it. PlasticFree did it. Maistic won the largest investment this season, walking home with 1,9 million DKK and two established international retail investors Jan Lehrmann and Jacob Risgaard.
On top that, the Danish Governmental Growth Fund (Vækstfonden) has added 3 million DDK and giving Maistic their full support for our one ‘simple’ mission: Less Plastic in this World and in consumer everyday lives.
Maistic is interviewed by Italian TV RAI1
On 4th March 2020 Maistic was contacted and interviewed by the famous journalist and warzone correspondent Maria Gianniti. On her tour around Europe she wanted to investigate, if Europe would be Plastic Free of single-use plastics in 2030. A big and interesting question.
Maistic owner Heidi von Bülow invited her and the television crew to the Danish supermarket, Meny Frederiksberg for a talk about the Maistic mission, Plastic Free products in Denmark and of course our answer to her thesis.
Maria Gianniti was surprised. Quite surprised actually, on the huge amount of plastic she saw. Almost nothing nude, neither fruit and vegetables, nor meet and fish – you see that even in discount stores. And lots of plastic bags by the counters.
“In Italy I haven’t seen a plastic bag for maybe one and a half year. We only have compostable bags”, she said.
Our answer to her question if Europe is without SUP’s in 2030? Unfortunately it’s No – at least not in Denmark.
At Maistic we lobby plastic free and composting (Denmark has only one composting plant) towards cities and politicians all the time. But there’s no hope for all single use plastic to be gone in Denmark in 2030. We have no refill stations, no supermarkets inviting to bring your own food packaging, lots of bags and plastic packagings, almost no local produce nor farmers markets, and we’re quite dependent on food import. Being a high tech country, our retailers have logistics in place.
In other words. All is dependent on plastics preserving our products, meaning logistics and farmers have to invest in new crops and expensive transport and warehouse systems before less plastic can be a true reality in our shops. And awareness from politicians.
Consumers want the Plastic Free option
With such extensive exposure in the media, it shows how important the cause of Less Plastic in this World is – not just for Maistic, but for everyone else as well. It is possible to offer Plastic Free products and solutions in supermarkets, stores and webshops around the world at a price, we can all pay. Maistic is proof of that.
Maistic is a dedicated Plastic Free retail brand and private label producer with a unique concept of creating high quality plastic free products at consumers price.
We are Experts in Plastic Free and compostable products – a rising demand from consumers all over the world! In that sense, we are hitting a nerve in the consumers and in the market because our brand stands for sustainability, quality and Plastic Free.
At this moment Maistic branded products are available in 20 countries with more to come and our products can be purchased in various webshops and still more supermarkets, eg.
